<p>Church again! Twice in one week. Beware, there could be snowstorms later today. G3 wanted to go and E promised us a wake up call, but my bladder beat him to it. En route to the bathroom, I nudged G3 awake and asked if he still wanted to go. He did. After breakfast, the scouts [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Finding out the car was totaled sent me spiraling again. I had another bad night. I couldn’t sleep. Every time I closed my eyes I saw the car careening into the guardrail. And knowing it was the car Dad bought me makes me feel even worse. By dawn, a migraine had settled in my head, [&hellip;]</p>

<p>It rained overnight. When I woke up I could hear rain beating against the tent. For now though, the rain has stopped. I slept decently again last night. I may only have slept six hours, but they were somewhat sound. The day was much like yesterday. There is way too much down time at camp [&hellip;]</p>

<p>The ear plugs I bought yesterday work at least as well as the ones I usually use, but they might actually work better. I heard nothing once I put them in. My brain also stopped racing a bit so I was able to get some sleep. I am definitely feeling better today. I am still [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Between my anxiety, replaying the accident over and over in my head, and the scouts screaming until well after midnight, I got absolutely no sleep last night. At one point, some of the scouts were shouting the “Twelve Days of Christmas,” at such a piercing level I thought my eardrums might shatter. The Scoutmaster reprimanded [&hellip;]</p>

<p>We almost did not make it to Boy Scout camp today. The morning started well enough. I woke up early, took a walk, said goodbye to Kati and then got in the car with G3. After stopping for coffee, we picked up two other scouts, met up with the troop and then headed off to [&hellip;]</p>

<p>It was nearing ten o’clock when we got in last night. By the time we unpacked the car, put our things in some semblance of order, and showered it was coming on midnight. That meant I didn’t even get a full six hours of sleep before my alarm went off and G3 and I had [&hellip;]</p>

<p>I woke up to the sound of raindrops beating down on the tent. Not terribly eager to get wet, I lingered in my sleeping bag longer than usual. By the time my bladder betrayed me, the rain had stopped. It was never more than a heavy drizzle, but it was enough to make the tents [&hellip;]</p>

<p>The college kids were loud as expected. I called the park ranger at eleven and she came and talked to them. They were quiet enough for a bit that I could fall asleep, but they woke me up at a quarter after one, so I called again. Once I am awake it takes forever for [&hellip;]</p>

<p>I slept decently despite the rocks on the ground and even though no alarm was set I was up by six thirty. Since the rest of my family was sleeping, I had the pleasure of reading alone for a while listening to nothing but the wind in the trees and the birds singing their morning [&hellip;]</p>

<p>I slept decently last night. The obnoxious kids and loud music both stopped by around ten thirty. The ground, however, was very rocky, so even with my foam pad I could feel the rocks beneath my body. It wasn’t comfortable and so I didn’t sleep well. We woke up early since Kati made reservations for [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Yay! We are on the road, my favorite place to be. We left the house early this morning and got on the road earlier than when we leave for work. It was a five and a half hour drive up to East Aurora, New York, our destination because, as you know, G3 is on a [&hellip;]</p>

<p>As many of you know, my son, G3, has been active in the Boy Scouts for the last several years. He has worked incredibly hard doing service projects, taking on leadership roles, and completing all the required merit badges. This is one of those times that I really wish my Dad were still alive because [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Kramer looked a little more comfortable in our absence last night. He slept for a while on our bed, and this morning, he was playing the way he usually does—doing his zoomies and chasing his tail. Still, we intend to get him a friend. Thank you to my cousin, Kerry, for offering up an idea [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Kramer is so lonely at home it’s breaking my heart. We set up a camera in our bedroom. Last night, he kept going into our room, looking for us, staring sadly at our bed, and then leaving only to return minutes later as if we might magically appear. I feel so bad for him. We [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Dear Dad, I miss you most this time of the year. The weather is getting cooler, and every time I see a pumpkin or leaves strewn across the grass I think of you. Facebook continuously reminds me of of your absence with memories of happier times—celebrating Nonna’s birthday, pumpkin picking, and apple picking. Sure I [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Dear Dad, For more than a year, I had been wanting to take the Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills course so that I could complete my Assistant Scoutmaster Training for Boy Scouts, but G3’s schedule has been so busy I hadn’t been able to escape for a weekend to do it. Last weekend, however, I [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Dear Dad, Mom took me and G3 on a mini-vacation—one last hurrah before we must return to work and school. Initially, we wanted to go the the Outer Banks, but between moving and mom’s concern regarding possible hurricanes, we felt the need to change our plans. I knew Mom wanted to go to the beach, [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Dear Dad, Last week, while G3 was at camp, we moved. We bought a house we don’t love—one that needs more work than we can afford—because our landlord ended our lease and gave us only a very small window to get out. The fact that Kati and I work in school districts far from each [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Besides too much driving, today was a Presidential Finale. We ended our trip with a detour to see the houses of some Ohio Presidents. We arrived at Rutgers B. Hayes’ house when it opened—an hour before the first tour. So we had time to explore the museum first. Spiegel Grove was build by Rutherford B. [&hellip;]</p>
