Yawgoog Day 4

It rained overnight. When I woke up I could hear rain beating against the tent. For now though, the rain has stopped. I slept decently again last night. I may only have slept six hours, but they were somewhat sound.
The day was much like yesterday. There is way too much down time at camp for adults. Too much time to sit around and rest. I am not a sedentary person and it’s hard not to get up and go. I walked around camp, but the walk it’s long. I admit, I am a bit restless.
G3 went out on the water in his small boat sailing class. They got out into the middle of the lake and the wind died. G3 and his partner used their hands to move the boat forward. When that proved too slow a method of movement, G3 jumped out of the boat and swam, pulling it to shore. I didn’t witness any of it. G3 filled me in during lunch.
He is really enjoying horsemanship. It’s one of his favorite merit badges. This afternoon he got to groom a horse named Teddy. The class is exceptionally small, only six scouts—three boys (all from G3’s troop) and three girls (from another troop).
As for me, I didn’t do much. It rained most of the afternoon—but no thunder or lightning—so I sat in my tent and read. When the rain stopped, I walked for a bit. I also spent a good deal of time conversing with the other leaders.
My car—the car Dad bought me the year before he died—is totaled. I spoke to the insurance company today. They informed me that they decided to total it based on the pictures. So I need to go and clean it out and pick up the plates. I am sad, it was the last gift Dad gave me.
This evening, G3 once again came to get me and we sat together near the water listening to the frogs and crickets and whatever animal was splashing and flopping around while we talked. I really enjoy the quiet alone time with him. It’s more than I even get at home when he always seems too busy or occupied to spend time with me. It makes this entire trip worth it for me.
