Where did I go? My happy place is the beach. In the time before Dad died and Mom sold the Mattituck house that was my sanctuary. It’s where I went when I hated life and needed to escape. And it always healed me, at least partially, but Mom no longer owns it. As a result, Long Island is no longer my safe place.
